  1. If one is considering the technological medium of 
  2. the car it is easy to see that the car is a figure  in 
  3. a ground  of services which includes the highways 
  4. and factories and oil companies and all of those 
  5. employed by these agencies. The car as figure  
  6. plays against the ground  of services which it 
  7. brings into existence, so that there is perpetual 
  8. action and responses between the complex 
  9. variety of tastes and needs of people and the 
  10. relatively simple hardware of the car.
